More Wonderful Wonders

Two down, five to go. Today we bring you places to stay if you’re checking Rome or Petra off your travel list. Expedia guests are sharing their experiences in Italy and Jordan at two more of the new Seven Wonders of the World.

The Colosseum, Rome, Italy:

  • Welcome Piram Hotel: “…you just can’t beat the location. Trevi fountain, Pantheon, Colosseum and all of old Rome within walking distance? Awesome!”
  • Trilussa Palace Hotel Congress & SPA: “…Make reservations for Vatican museums, Colosseum and Villa Borghese on-line; it will save you hours from waiting or even “sold out” for little extra money.”
  • Boutique Hotel Trevi: “If location is important to you, then this hotel should be high on your short list. Just seconds from the Trevi fountain, down a pedestrian alley lined with shops and restaurants that leads to the Pantheom. We walked everywhere including the Colosseum and the Vatican, both comfortable under an hour including stopping to sight see and take photos…”
  • Artemide Hotel: “If you want to visit the Vatican City, St Peters, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, the Colosseum and the Forum then this hotel is well situated…”
  • Albergo Del Senato: “…The rooftop bar was beautiful with views where we could see the Vatican and the colosseum along with reasonable priced drinks…”

Petra, Jordan:

  • Moevenpick Resort Petra: “I live in Jordan and when I want to take my visiting friends to Petra I always choose this hotel. It is the best and the closest to the entrance which is very important when you come back tired and want to relax…”
  • Moevenpick Resort and Spa Dead Sea: “…While we waited for the room, we reserved massages at the spa and had a completely relaxing experience. This was exactly what we needed after 2 days of climbing around Petra…”
  • Caesar Eilat: “…We took a day trip to Petra, Jordan. Definetly worth while.”
  • Sol y Mar Sea Star Taba: “…If you want to chill out, it is ideal, though there are lots of fantastic trips on offer like Petra in Jordan, Jerusalem and Cairo. You can dive or snorkel the Red Sea or just brown in the sun.”
  • Moevenpick Resort & Residence, Aqaba: “…Our holiday was mainly beach-based, with a few boat trips and a day at Petra and Wadi Rum thrown in…Aqaba as a town did not have a great deal to offer, but with Petra and other delights only an hour and a half drive away, who cares?”
